My bilingual DE/EN child attends here currently. The student to teacher ratio here is excellent - my child's room has 3 teachers (2 German speaking and 1 English speaking) plus 1 part-time trainee for about 18 children.
The rooms are bright and spacious, and the other children represent a mix of nationalities/languages. The opening hours are great for families with 2 working parents, although very few families take advantage of the fact that the Kita is open until 17:30. For us though, this fact alone could justify the additional monthly cost, since we can avoid usually avoid hiring a babysitter or nanny to pick our child up from Kita to cover the time until I can be home.
Our child is happy to go to Kita and reluctant to leave, which seems to be a good sign. The food is mainly organic and generally tasty and healthy.
The only downside I have noticed is that there are only a few other children in my child's classroom with an English-speaking parent, so most of the kids speak German with each other. This is great for families who want/need their children to learn German, but not as ideal for a bilingual family hoping to reinforce our child's skills in the non-dominant language.
However, the teachers are enthusiastic and personable and I know this contributes to our child's ongoing language development in both languages.
Good. The teachers in my daughters group are very forthcoming and warm. From what I observed every kid is taken well cared of and attended to its needs. The teachers keep us up to date on the daily activities by a weekly schedule at the door and each kid has their own card that gets updated daily on what/ how much it ate. How long it slept and if it needs any extra clothes/ diapers or if anything out of the norm happened. My daughter is only EN speaking and very hyper. Nevertheless she is very well integrated and always feels welcome. The cost is a bit high, but than again its a private kita. You pay a yearly fee of under 3000,- (donation) and a monthly of about 78,- (Bio food and extras).
