Fabric and Friends: A 3 part textile art series for children ages 3–6 Presented by Friendship in the Feld

Join us for a hands-on creative series designed especially for children ages 3–6 and their caregivers.

Fabric & Friends is a 3-part art workshop where little hands explore big ideas through read alouds, sensory experiences, and textile-based art-making.

🎨 What to Expect: Over the course of three sessions, children will:

✨ Session 1: “All About Me” – Sensory Self Portraits / 9 May 15:30 - 16:30

Using mirrors, textile scraps, and glue, children will create unique self-portrait collages that celebrate who they are and how they see themselves. We’ll read a story together to spark conversation about self-image and how to represent themselves.

🍎 Session 2: “Still Life, Still Me” – Textile Fruit & Flower Collages / 16 May 15:30 - 16:30

Children will explore still life art using real fruit and flower props. They’ll create their own still life setups and transform them into vibrant textile collages. We’ll also listen to a read aloud to encourage noticing the beauty in the details around us.

🖼 Session 3: “Fabric & Friends Gallery” – Art Show & Celebration / 22 May 15:30 - 16:30

Time to celebrate! Children will get to show off their hard work to their families and enjoy light refreshments as we honor each child’s creativity.

☕ Grown-Up Time: Caregivers are invited to stay for each session, sip on coffee, and connect with other parents in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.

***IMPORTANT NOTE: This event is part of a 3-part series. By purchasing a ticket, you are securing access to all three dates of the series (see above) for 1 child and 1 caregiver. For the Session 3 Gallery Opening, all family members are invited to view their artist's work. We ask that you be able to attend all three dates to ensure the full experience is provided. Individual sessions are not available for purchase due to the nature of art collection and skill building for this series. If you have any questions or concerns about the dates or format, please don’t hesitate to contact us before purchasing.

Further information: We will provide all craft and sensory materials as well as a caring and nurturing environment for safe and supported learning. We suggest you feed your child a small snack before the session, but will have some dry goods (rice crackers, raisins) on site just in case.

We will also be providing coffee and tea for caregivers to enjoy while their children learn. We ask parents stay on site in case their child is struggling to join or having big feelings, but otherwise we invite adults in attendance to sit back, relax, and meet other parents. There is a toilet available for patrons but no changing table. You will receive a welcome packet upon ticket purchase with more detailed information about the event as well as consent forms.
