Looking for something to do with your kiddo in Berlin, but in English? Here’s a list of fun activities in English for kids of different ages – as well as expecting parents.

Expecting Parents (NEW!)

English Speaking Family Meetups for Expecting and Current Parents (Friedrichshain)

Doula and sleep educator Keatyn Jayne hosts meetups for expecting and current parents at FUN Family Center in Friedrichshain in select Wednesday afternoons. Check Keatyn's instagram for upcoming dates. (Free event)

Open Meeting for People in Pregnancy (Schöneberg)

Doula Marta Palombo hosts a meetup for expecting people and couples at Kiezoase Schöneberg. It takes places in the evening every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. Learn more. (Free event)

Afloat (Online)

Afloat holds monthly online meetups for existing and current moms. The virtual support group takes place every second Monday of the month at 20:00. Learn more. (Donation based)

Kietzee Expecting Events (Berlin-wide)

Of course, this list wouldn't be complete without telling you that with a Kietzee membership, you will be able to participate in monthly social events with your small group of peers, starting in pregnancy and into the first year with your baby. Learn more. (Paid membership)

0-4 Years Old

Baby & Toddler Playgroup at St. George's Church (Westend Charlottenburg)

This English speaking playgroup has been running for over 30 years and offers fun play time for babies and toddlers, plus some adult company for the parents. It takes place on Mondays from 10am to 12pm. It is a real community effort as every week, a different parent opens up the venue, prepares tea and coffee and bring some snacks. (€5 per family, except for the host) Learn more.

Little Music Makers (various locations)

Little Music Makers® is a music school in English for children ages 1 – 4 years and their parents. The lessons are mixed-age, i.e. babies, toddlers and young children can join in the same course and sing, dance and make music together! More information. (Paid course)

TwistKlang! (Prenzlauer Berg)

English Speaking, music-oriented movement classes for 1-2 or 3-6 year olds. The classes are led by early childhood educator, Lauren Piper – and are super fun! (I attended the 3-6 year olds class with my kids recently). Learn more. (Paid class)

Baby Music Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg)

Louise Watts offers baby music classes at Raum Schwalbe on four days a week: Baby Music, Moving Baby Music and Toddler Music for babies from 3 months to 4 years old. Sing, move, dance, play, learn, have fun and make friends! Learn more.

Expat Parent-Toddler Playgroup (Kreuzberg) – currently on hold

This group is looking for a new host and venue! If you're interested, contact Kyla Linnenkohl. Here are the old details: This International playgroup takes place on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 12:30 at St. Lukas Church near Anhalter Bahnhof. More information.

Montessori Music Class (Prenzlauer Berg/Pankow)

Montessori Music Class is a place to connect through sharing live music with your little one. Children enjoy this time together by singing, dancing, and playing instruments. Classes are offered one Saturday per month with a group for babies 0-16 months and a group for toddlers 16 months – 4 years. Find out more.

Montessori Fathers Meet-Up (Prenzlauer Berg/Pankow)

Fathers Meet-Up is a place for dads to connect with each other and discuss their journey through fatherhood while children enjoy a fully prepared Montessori environment. Classes are offered once per month on Saturday for fathers and children aged 8 weeks – 4 years old. Learn more.

Bilingual music classes and concerts for babies up to 5 year olds. Find out more.

English Music Baby Group (Friedrichshain)

Familienzentrum Juli offers a music groups for babies aged 6 to 13 months on Mondays (6 dates, €30, registration required). Learn more.

English Baby Massage Class (Friedrichshain)

Familienzentrum Juli also offers a baby massage class on Mondays (6 dates, €30, registration required). Learn more.

English Music Class (Friedrichshain)

Familienzentrum FamoX offers music classes for children of different ages: 6 months to 1 year old, 1 to 3 years old. (Paid, registration required). Learn more.

Baby Fun in English (Weissensee) – nor currently taking place

There are three classes for two different age groups (from 8 to 24 months). The classes are all about baby movement and singing for english speaking families or families that would like to expose their children to the english language. Learn more.

Baby & Parents Circle at Kiezoase (Schöneberg)

This is an international group of parents with babies from 0 to 12 months to share questions and experiences. It takes place every Monday 14-15:30. It is free of charge and no registration is needed. Find out more.

Mothers’ Spaces (Prenzlauer Berg & Charlottenburg)

This group is open to anyone who defines themselves as a mother (with an intention, pregnant, with a child already here) and babies from 0 to 3 years. It is a circle of connection and exchange of information. It takes place every Friday from 10:30-13:00. The event free of charge but registration is needed. Locations alternate between the Familienzentrum Schivelbeiner Straße (Prenzlauer Berg) and the Familienzentrum Jungfernheide (Charlottenburg). Contact the facilitator, Marta Palombo, to confirm upcoming dates and locations.

Zumbini (Prenzlauer Berg)

Zumbini® combines music, dance and educational tools for kids ages 0-4. The classes last 45 minutes and meet for 6-12 consecutive weeks (trial classes available). Learn more.

Birdie – Music for the first childhood (Wedding)

Birdie is a music course in English for mothers, fathers and babies from 0 - 12 months. Every Friday at 14.00. Find out more.

PEKiP in English (Prenzlauer Berg)

At PEKiP, parents and babies can enjoy a fun and relaxed environment to learn and bond. Each 90 minute weekly session is held in a warm room. To maximize freedom of movement and bonding with the parent, babies are free of clothing. This class is for babies under 1 year of age. Learn more.

Toddler Music Classes (Multiple locations, incl. outdoors)

Weekly drop-in classes for kids aged 1-4 years old (with parent) to discover music through singing, instrument exploration and movement play. Taught by professional singer, experienced child-minder and mama, Sarah Bodle. Find out more.

From 3 Years Old

Berlin Children’s Choir

The Berlin Children’s Choir is an English speaking choir for children from 4 to 12 years old. Each week in Dahlem, Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg choirs meet to sing, dance, play, learn, have fun and make friends.The repertoire ranges from kids’ favourites to classical choral to modern pop songs and musicals. More information.

English Music Class (Friedrichshain)

Familienzentrum FamoX offers music classes for children 3 to 5 years old. (Paid, registration required). Learn more.

The Center (Prenzlauer Berg)

The Center offers various dance, acrobatics and acting classes for kids and teenagers from 3 years of age. All classes are taught by native English speaking teachers and in English only. Learn more.

Saturday Club Berlin (Pankow)

Saturday Club offers meetups for English speaking families on most Saturday afternoons. There are groups for toddlers (aged 1-3), pre-schoolers (aged 3-7) and school kids (aged 7 and up). More information.

Footsteps Dance Studio (Prenzlauer Berg)

Footsteps Dance Studio offers dance classes for kids (and adults) in German and English. As of October 2023, they only offer Irish Dance in German for kids from 6 years old but check back for more courses. More information.

Creative Dance for Kids at TuCanto (Neukölln)

A weekly workshop that will introduce the kids (from 4 to 6 years old) to dance in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. Dance classes help children learn to connect with their mind and body while developing confidence, coordination, and concentration. The class is taught in English and Spanish. Learn more. FamiLingua (Online and in various locations)

FamiLingua offers online Book Club sessions for English speaking kids aged 4-6 years old. Co-founder Elle reads an English children's story and then there is playful conversation, crafts or songs to go with the story. They also offer special project days, such as spring and forest outings or arts and crafts days. Check for upcoming dates. (Paid events)

From 8 Years Old

English Theatre Berlin (Kreuzberg)

Berlin International Youth Theatre (BIYT) has been offering weekly drama classes and producing original productions for over a decade. BIYT offers participants the opportunity to learn theater skills and perform onstage. At the same time, the youth theater provides a platform for social exchange, friendship, creative expression and communication in English. They offer different programs from ages 8 to 20 years old. Learn more.

Yoga for Kids (English/Spanish)

Yoga teacher, dancer and artist Clara Federica Crescini (Claire) is offering a weekly yoga class for kids in English/Spanish at Casa de música- TuCanto in Neukölln. Every Friday (16:30 to 17:15) for 7-10 years old. Learn more and register: info(at)tucanto.de
